Accessibility statement
Last updated:
This statement describes how the website at monica-schwartz.com is built so that as many people as possible can use it, which limits remain, and how to ask for help or report a problem. It covers the English and Hebrew versions.
What has been done
- Headings and page regions give each page a clear structure, and a “Skip to content” link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
- The whole site can be used with a keyboard alone. The menu opens and closes from the keyboard, and the position of the keyboard focus is clearly visible. Without scripts the menu is a plain list of links.
- There are English and Hebrew versions, each marked with its own language and reading direction (right to left in Hebrew). Titles and names in other languages are marked with their own language.
- Photographs have text descriptions.
- The layout adapts to narrow screens (down to 320 pixels wide) and to enlarged text. Links and buttons are sized for touch, and animation is reduced if the device asks for that.
- Links that lead to YouTube, an external site, say so. No videos are embedded and nothing plays automatically.
- The site does not add its own accessibility toolbar. Browser and device settings such as zoom, text size, high contrast or a screen reader are meant to work with the pages as usual.
Known limitations
- The recordings are hosted on YouTube. Whether they have captions or transcripts has not been checked, and this site does not control how accessible the YouTube player is.
- Photographs have short descriptions only, not long descriptions. Some photographs carry the photographer’s watermark inside the image itself.
- The site has not been independently audited or certified, and it has not yet been tested across a full range of screen readers and devices.
Standard aimed for
The site is built with the aim of following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. This is an aim, not a certificate or a claim of full conformance.
Report a problem or ask for accessible information
If you cannot use part of this site, or you need information from it in another form, please email Monica:
To help find the problem, you can include the page address (URL), what you were trying to do and what went wrong, and, if you wish, the browser and any assistive technology you use. You do not need to give any health or disability information.
Monica will try to reply and to provide the information in a form you can use, as far as possible.
